Do you want to help create a safe and meaningful leisure time for children and young people in Hässelby-Vällingby? As a recreation guide, you will have a unique opportunity to work closely with both children, families, and local actors to lower barriers and open doors to leisure activities.

The Hässelby-Vällingby District Administration is located in western Stockholm, close to nature and good transport links. The position is a project employment for one year with the possibility of extension.

Your role

As a recreation guide, you work to help children and young people find their way to meaningful leisure time. Your main tasks are to:

  • Guide children to regular, adult-led recreational activities based on interest and need
  • Collaborate with schools, associations, the sports administration, cultural school, and libraries
  • Strengthen cooperation between recreational activities and social services
  • Support families in applying for reduced fees, leisure cards, and funds
  • Engage in dialogue with associations about opportunities for support and inclusion
  • Work proactively in the district, including outdoors and with a service bicycle

Your qualifications and experience

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education (at least 2 years) in social or educational work, e.g., social worker, recreation leader, leisure teacher, sports teacher, or equivalent education
  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
  • Basic documentation skills and experience with the Office suite

Desirable

  • Experience with documentation in “The Logbook” (KEKS)
  • Multilingualism

You are expected to work well both independently and in a team. You are self-driven and advance the work and development of the content of the position. You report to your immediate supervisor. Multilingualism is an asset.

We are members of the KEKS network and use “The Logbook” for documentation and daily follow-up, allowing us to compare ourselves nationally and internationally. You need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, basic skills in documenting your work in speech and writing, and experience using the Office suite.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education equivalent to at least 2 years of full-time studies in social/educational work such as social worker, recreation leader, leisure teacher, sports teacher, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Experience working with children and young people

Asset

  • Experience with documentation in “The Logbook” (KEKS)
  • Multilingual
